Matthew 6:25-34

(a children sermon)
Reading: Philippians 4:6-7, Matthew 6:25-34

(1) What is this person doing?
Right, he worries.
Have you ever worried like this person before?

What is worry?
Can you tell me?
What is he doing?
Right, he is thinking that something bad may happen.
Something worse may happen! Ahhh.
So, it is very painful to worry sometimes.

(2) But Jesus says:
“Don’t worry.
I can take care of you.
I love you.
I am good.
I am faithful to you.
So, talk to me.
Talk to Holy Spirit.
Talk to God.
Then God will give you peace.”

Jesus asks us to stop worrying.
Jesus asks us to talk to God.
We can explain to God about out situation.
Then we will have a peace in our heart.
God will give us peace.
Then we can thank God for taking care of us.
We can thank God for listening to us.

God loves you.
So, when you talk to God, God loves it.
(4) Talk to God, as if you are talking to your friend.

Now I have some questions?
Do you think we can only talk to God at the church?
Do you think we can talk to God while in bed?
Do you think we can talk to God when you just wake up and haven’t washed your face?
Do you think we can talk to God while playing with our friend?
Do you think we can talk to God anytime and anywhere?
Right, you can talk to God anytime and anywhere.
You are going to watch a movie soon.
You can also talk to God while watching a movie.

You can also write to God like this person over there.
In this week, try to be with God sharing your thoughts or ideas, ok?

Let’s pray:
Jesus we trust in you.
We love you.
Thank you for taking care of us.
Help us to know what to say to you.
In your name, we pray. Amen.
