Luke 16: 1-13

Taking good care of the little things in life
Reading: Luke 16: 1-13 (10-11)
Props: A tricycle

Jesus said something like this.
Anyone want to read?
(3) "Whoever can be trusted with little things can be trusted with big things.”

Now let’s try to understand these.
First, what is this?
Right, it is a tricycle.
Do have something like this at home?
Or do you have a bicycle at home?
Now do you take good care of your tricycle or bicycle?

You may drive this now.
But when you grow up, you will probably drive a car.
Right?
Do you think so?
Now if you have a car, do you think you will take good care of your car?

I can say this:
If you take good care of your toy, wagon, tricycle, bicycle, you will probably take good care of your car.
Usually, those who take good care of little things in life will take good care of big things!
So, if you take good care of a little thing, we know, you can be trusted with big things.
Because those who take good care of little things, probably take good care of bigger things.

So, Jesus said something like this.
(3) He said:
"Whoever can be trusted with little things can be trusted with big things.”

So, let’s take good care of little things in life.
Let’s take good care of a little toy or a little money.
Then we will know how to take good care of big things.
Then eventually God will trust you with bigger things.

So, if you love your brother and your sister and your friends and share your stuff or your toys with them, God will know that you can be trusted with more people and with better things.
Then God may help you to love more people around you.

So, if someone asks you to do something, try to do a good job for them.
Try to take good care of somebody else’s stuff.
Then, God will trust you and give you what is yours.

Sometimes, something may look small.
But if we take good care of little things first, then we can be trusted with big things.
Ok?

Let's Pray:
Jesus, thank you for taking good care of us.
Help us to take good care of little things in life.
Help us to learn so that we may take good care of yours later.
In your name, we pray.
Amen.

Now, we are going to go back to our seat and continually worship God here together with our parents.
So, if you want, you can take one of this pen and this legal pad.
Then you can write down your thoughts or draw pictures as you worship God together here with your parents.
Ok?
If you want, take one.
