VBS talks during the gatherings of whole groups (SonWest Roundup)
Props: eagle toy, telescope

Let's begin with a prayer:
God, thank for you this old town.
Help us to learn of you.
Help us to play and enjoy with you.
Thank you for loving us and caring for us.
In your name Jesus, we pray, amen.

Day 1 – morning:
How are you?
Welcome to our old town.
In this town, we have restaurant, sheriff office, theater and so on.
You are going to visit one of these places.

(1) Also in this town, sometimes, we see this animal.
What is this?
Right, it is called Armadillo.
Armadillo has a good skill.
(2) He can do this!
He can fold his body like this to protect himself.
God creates this animal to do this so that he could avoid some difficulties in life.

You know what?
God also want to protect us from difficulties in life.
So, God sends us Jesus.
Also God sends Jesus to save us from our sin and from ourselves, as well!

So the bible explains like this:
(1) Let’s read together:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Do you know what “eternal life” means?
Right, it means living forever.
It means that we live forever.
Because of Jesus, we can live forever, being connected with our Eternal God
So, we want to give thanks to Jesus.
Not only that, but also we want to learn more of Jesus here, as well.

Now you can get lost here.
So, we have our teachers ready to guide you.
Follow your teacher well. OK?
Here is…. (You may introduce teachers.)

Day 1 – afternoon:

Now since we are here at this old town.
We are going to see this animal.
Let’s see.
(2) What is this?
Yes, it is Lizard.

(1) You know what?
Lizard always feels cold all the time.
So, they need the sun’s power to get warm.
When their body gets warm, they can move around and do their things.

We also need the power from God to move and have our beings.
So, God sends Jesus Christ to give us the power to live and do what God wants.
So, Jesus said this:
Let’s read together:
“In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart!
I have overcome the world.”

What does “overcome the world” mean?
It means “win the world.”
It means that Jesus is more powerful than this world.
So, we don’t need to be afraid of anything, if we are with Jesus.
Because Jesus is more powerful than anything or anyone in this world.
So, Jesus can help us live and change this world for the better.

OK. See you soon.

Day 1 - (Leaving)
Props: a cup with clean water and a cup with dirty water.
Do you remember this?

What do you think this is? (Dirty water)
What do you think this is? (Clean water)

What would you do if someone gives you this kind of water to drink?
Will you drink it?

But in many part of the world, people don’t have clean water to drink.
So, they drink this kind of water.
If they drink this water, what would happen to them?
They would get sick very often.
They might get a bad stomach pain.
Or they may die.

So, there are many organizations that are working to provide clean water to them.
(1) One of them is called, the Living Waters for the world.
In fact, we want to send some money to them.
How can we do that?

You know what?
When you come here, your parents gave us some money to teach you and take good care of you.
Why don’t we send that money to this organization that provides clean water?
Sounds good?
Then, we can now help people together to have clean water.
Sounds good?

Since more people might come, we will let you know on this Sunday how much we are sending.

Did you have fun?
Tomorrow we are going to have water sliding.
So bring your swimsuit and your friends, ok?

Let's pray:
God, we welcome you in this place.
May you come and give eternal life.
And may you give clean water to each nation so that they would drink and be healthy.
With their good health, may they also learn of you, too so that they may have the eternal life.
In your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Day 2 – Morning

(3) Now in this old town, we see more animals.
What is this?
Right, it is a horse.
We can ride on them.

Every cowboy or cowgirl needs a horse.
Why is that?
(1) Because this horse can give them a good ride to their home.
This horse knows the way very well
So, the horse can take them to their home very easily.

Jesus can give us a ride to our eternal home.
Jesus also knows the way very well.
Jesus knows how to get there.
Jesus can even help us to go and find God.
Jesus can also help us to become God’s family!

How can he do all that?
To answer that question, Jesus said who he is.
Let’s read together:
“I am the resurrection and the life.
The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”

What does it mean?
Jesus can not only rise from the death and live but also make people to live again.
If we believe in him, Jesus can give us life and help us live a good life forever.
Jesus has the power to make us live according to the will of God.
So, we are going to ride with Jesus today.
Ok, see you soon.

Day 2 – afternoon

(4) What is this?
Right, it is a cow.
Do you know what cow provides for us?

Cow provides milk.
With this milk, we can make cheese, yogurt, and ice-cream and so on.
God gives us cows so that we can have these foods.

You know what?
Jesus can also provide our food.
Jesus can provide our spiritual food.
It means Jesus provides good spiritual teachings and life so that we can live forever, because of him.
Then spiritually, we are not going to be hungry or thirsty anymore.
We will be spiritually satisfied and happy.

Jesus explains it like this.
Anybody wants to read this for us?
“I am the bread of life.
Whoever comes to me will never go hungry.
Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

We eat Jesus because he is our spiritual food.
Then Jesus can help us to live a good life.
Because of Jesus, we can live a spiritual life with God.

So, let’s give thanks to Jesus who provides all these food.
And let’s live with him forever.

Did you have fun?
Now let's give a big hand to all the teachers who prepare this.
Give a big hand to God who provide this.
Also give a big hand to all of you who come here.

Now do you know what time you should come tomorrow?
You need to come 11 o'clock, ok?
See you soon.

Day 2 - (Leaving)

Let’s pray:
God today, thank you for helping us to know your love.
Thank you for your love.
May we also love you back, by loving people.
May we also love our parents.
May we also love our friends.
May we love each other.
In your name we pray. Amen.

Day 3 – morning

(5) What is this?
It is called Prairie Dog

Prairie dogs live together.
They like to take care of each other; love each other and comfort each other.
(3) They may even pray for each other.

Jesus also asks us to love one another.
Jesus asks us to tack care of each other, and love each other, knowing that we are all God’s family.

So, Jesus said this:
Anyone wants to read this for us?
“A new command I give you: Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Say "love."
Louder, say "Love."
Say, God is love.
Say, Jesus is love.
Great that is what God is.

Jesus is love.
Jesus wants to be known for his love.
So, Jesus asks us to love one another just like he loves us.
Then when we love each other, everyone will know that we belong to Jesus.
Everyone will know that we believe in Jesus.

So, Jesus asks us to love everyone with the love of God so that God can take care of people through us.

Let’s love Jesus and make him known by loving everyone, so that Jesus can live and do greater works among us.
